PROJECT EQUALITY

Project Equality is a photo campaign that began as a high school class project. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the LGBTQ community. Taken in black and white, these photos illustrate how we are all human. We are all equal.
Why should these faces deserve any less than you?
What makes you better than these people?
What makes them less intelligent or less applicable than you?
Our goal is to represent the humanity in each individual by taking a simple black and white photo. The people that you are seeing in these photos, the people that are being interviewed, are Human. They do not deserve to be treated as anything less.

This is a project that began in my contemporary issues class. We have 4 criterion to meet: 1 commercial, 2 posters, 1 presentation. I am in charge of helping with posters. For these posters, we plan to make a collage out of photos, meaning we will do a photo shoot. These photos, simple bust shots in black and white, will show the humanity in each individual, and that we are all Equal. The models fall anywhere in the spectrum of sexual preferences, from gay to straight and everything in between. This is a project about ANTI-discrimination.
My group and I don't want this project to be confined to just our school because the problem extends beyond us. We want to include people outside our school. And we need help to do it!

If you want to help and be a part of Project Equality, you can either come to one of our shoots in the Nashville, TN, area, -or- you can have your own photo shoot and share your images on our Facebook page! The only thing you need is an equal sign on your cheek!
